Gilded Bronze Statue of Hercules
This gilded bronze statue of Hercules, found in the Forum Boarium in the late 15th century, depicts the hero with his iconic club and the golden apples of the Hesperides. Likely a cult image for the temple of Hercules, it was dedicated by Scipio Aemilianus in 142 BC. The statue embodies Hercules’ strength and divine favor in Roman culture.
