Erected in 1630, the statue honors Carlo Barberini, brother of Pope Urban VIII, by repurposing an antique statue of Julius Caesar. Standing 210 cm tall, it reflects Barberini’s roles as Gonfalonier of the Church and Duke of Monterotondo. Located in the Hall of the Captains, it symbolizes the Barberini family’s enduring legacy in ecclesiastical and civic spheres.
