Painted by Giuseppe Cesari (1612–1613), this fresco depicts a legendary duel from ancient Rome between the Horatii and Curiatii. The battle symbolizes the conflict between Rome and Alba Longa. The narrative shows the Horatii brothers confronting the Curiatii. Despite losing two brothers, the last Horatius isolates and defeats the Curiatii, securing victory for Rome.
