This Roman marble and bronze statue (2nd c. BC) is a copy of a Greek original depicting Artemis, goddess of the hunt and fertility. The statue features rows of objects on her chest, interpreted as multiple breasts or bull testicles, symbolizing fertility. Her ornate attire reflects her diverse roles.
