오귀스트 로댕의 조각 《Avarice and Lust》(1888년 이전)는 탐욕과 욕망을 탐구한다. 원래 《The Gates of Hell》의 일부였으며, 탐욕을 상징하는 남성은 《The Falling Man》에서 가져와 팔, 머리, 머리카락을 바꿔 변형한 모습이다. 여성은 욕정을 구현하며 자신의 몸을 내어준다. 로댕은 인간의 형상을 은유로 전환해 욕망과 현실 사이의 긴장을 포착하고, 인간 감정과 도덕적 갈등에 대한 그의 탐구를 드러낸다.
