تستكشف منحوتة أوغست رودان، Avarice and Lust (قبل 1888)، الجشع والرغبة. وكانت في الأصل جزءًا من The Gates of Hell، وتُظهر رجلًا يرمز إلى الطمع، مقتبسًا من The Falling Man مع تعديل الذراعين والرأس والشعر. وتجسّد امرأة الشهوة، عارضةً جسدها. يحوّل رودان الأشكال البشرية إلى استعارات، ملتقطًا التوتر بين الرغبة والواقع، بما يعكس استكشافه للعاطفة الإنسانية والصراع الأخلاقي.
