Roman Theater of Ostia
This semi-circular theater, originally built under Agrippa (c. 12 BC) and expanded in the 2nd c. AD, could hold up to 4,000 spectators. Overlooking the Piazzale delle Corporazioni, it served as a cultural and civic hub for Ostia’s citizens. Its enduring structure and modern use for performances illustrate the continuity of public gathering across two millennia.
