Relief with Chi-Rho

305
This marble fragment (4th c.) from Terme del Mitra bears a faint Chi-Rho — an early Christogram formed by the Greek letters Χ (Chi) and Ρ (Rho) for Christ. Such discreet symbols appeared as Christianity gained prominence, marking the gradual transformation of Ostia’s religious landscape during Late Antiquity.
