This geometric mosaic from the House of the Dioscures (c. 2nd c. AD) features a swastika — an ancient symbol of good fortune and eternity — framed by interlacing patterns and vegetal designs. Such motifs, common in Roman domestic decoration, conveyed auspicious meaning and visual harmony within elite residences.
