223
This letter (5 August 1429) was sent by Joan of Arc to reassure the people of Reims after Charles VII halted his advance on Paris. Written shortly after the king’s coronation, it reflects Joan’s continued command and devotion to royal legitimacy. She urged the citizens to guard the good city of the king , affirming Reims as a symbol of divine and national unity.
