Alexandre III BridgePont Alexandre III
Alexandre III Bridge was built in 1896–1900 as a ceremonial monument to the Franco-Russian alliance and unveiled for the 1900 Exposition Universelle. Its single, low iron arch keeps the Seine’s vistas open between the Champs-Élysées and Les Invalides, while gilded nymphs, winged horses, and Art Nouveau lamps turn engineering into Beaux-Arts theatre. For many Parisians it remains a Belle Époque emblem of diplomacy made permanent in stone, bronze, and light.
