Auguste Rodin’s monumental bronze sculpture, created between 1880 and 1917, was inspired by Dante’s Inferno . Originally commissioned for a museum that was never built, Rodin spent 37 years on this work, which features over 200 figures in torment. Standing 6 meters high, it includes iconic elements like The Thinker and The Three Shades . Though exhibited unfinished in 1900, bronze casts were made after Rodin’s death.
