Maximilien Robespierre, known as ’the Incorruptible,’ was a key figure in the French Revolution. He advocated for the abolition of slavery, universal suffrage, and opposed war. Despite his influence, he became a target during the ’Reign of Terror.’ Arrested on 27 July 1794, he was executed by guillotine the next day, ending his revolutionary role.
