Ballroom Decor of Hôtel WendelJosé Maria Sert

In 1925, Catalan artist José Maria Sert designed the ballroom decor for Hôtel Wendel at 28 Quai de New York, Paris. The ground floor featured sepia glazes over silver sheets, excluding three windows facing the Seine. This theatrical setting showcased Sert’s decorative arts expertise. The decor was later moved to preserve its opulent and exotic ambiance.
