앙투안 부르델의 《The Dying Centaur》는 1911~1914년에 조각된 작품으로, 이교의 쇠퇴를 상징한다. 부르델은 켄타우로스와 자신을 동일시하며 개인적 성찰을 청동에 담아냈다. 이 작품에는 두 가지 버전이 있는데, 하나는 수염이 있고 다른 하나는 없으며 크기는 각각 약 14 x 12 x 4 15/16인치이다. 이 작품은 신화와 현대성이 맞닿는 가슴 아픈 교차점을 보여준다.
