Chimú-Inca Ceramic Vessel with Feline Motif
This ceramic vessel from Peru’s north coast (1300–1532 AD) exemplifies Chimú-Inca cultural synthesis. Created by the Chimú, it merges northern sculptural elements with southern polychromy and flattened spouts. The double-bodied, double-spouted design connected by a bridge is characteristic of Chimú-Inca artistry. Feline motifs highlight their significance as major deities in the region’s spiritual hierarchy.
