The Pantheon (118–125) presents a deep portico of 16 monolithic granite columns supporting a triangular pediment above the crowded forecourt. The frieze carries the earlier dedication to Agrippa, preserved from the Augustan sanctuary. Behind this conventional temple front lies the vast concrete dome, a pairing that asserts both Roman architectural experimentation and respect for ancestral tradition.
