This sculptural-painterly ensemble (1672–85) merges stucco and fresco in a dramatic illusion above the nave. Angels unfurl a celestial ribbon bearing the Latin words from Philippians—at the name of Jesus every knee should bow—emphasizing Christ’s universal sovereignty and the Jesuit call to global conversion.
