Embossed Gold Disks of Diquís
These ceremonial gold disks from the Diquís culture (700–1550 AD) were crafted in Costa Rica’s southern Pacific region. The left disk displays intricate motifs alongside raised bosses, possibly symbolizing cosmological or mythic elements. The right features a more symmetrical design. Both were worn by elites to project power, spirituality, and ancestral connection.
