Madonna and Child

239
This late Gothic wooden sculpture (1470–1500) of the Virgin and Child once stood on the altar of Riga’s Great Guild, a fraternity of merchants. Carved and gilded for devotional use, it was removed during the war and repatriated to Latvia in 2001 after decades abroad.
