Net Weights from Medieval Riga

These net weights (12th–13th cc.), made from stone, fired clay, and lead, were used to anchor fishing nets in the Daugava River. Their varied shapes reflect different methods of attachment and use. Found in Riga excavations, they highlight the sophistication of medieval fishing practices.
