Bell-Shaped Bronze Ornament

226
This finely cast double bronze pendant (11th–12th cc.), likely worn as part of a larger necklace or belt, was unearthed in Old Riga. Its conical bells suggest both decorative and apotropaic functions—meant to ward off evil through sound, a common belief in Baltic medieval folk traditions.
