Model of Medieval Trading Ship

This model shows a (13th c.) clinker (overlapping-plank) cargo ship with a single mast, square sail, and open hull structure. The original vessel, about 14.3 m long, used oak and pine planks fastened with iron rivets for strength in rough Baltic waters. Archival photographs document its excavation in Riga’s old harbor, indicating its importance in regional maritime trade.
