Madonna and Child

100
This late Gothic sculpture (15th c.) depicts the Virgin Mary tenderly holding the Christ child. Carved and gilded wood highlights the sacred bond of mother and son. It once adorned the altar of Riga’s Great Guild and was repatriated to Latvia in 2001 after decades abroad.
