Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein’s etchings (1801–1805) from the series Homer nach Antiken gezeichnet reflect his fascination with classical antiquity. Created in Rome, these works capture the spirit of Homeric epics through ancient art. Tischbein, a neoclassical artist, aimed to bridge past and present, creating a visual dialogue between Homer’s narratives and the artistic heritage of antiquity.
