The vault frescoes (c.1489–93) unite Dominican theology with Marian devotion. At the center appear the arms of Cardinal Carafa, the patron. The four compartments depict the Virgin in Glory, the Nativity, the Prophet Isaiah, and allegories of virtues and wisdom. The program reflects Aquinas’ doctrine of divine order, where wisdom and grace flow through the Virgin as the mediator between God and humanity.
