Sea Procession with Tritons and NereidsLuzio Romano (attrib.)

Part of the marine frieze (1544–45) at Castel Sant’Angelo, this fresco captures a festive procession of Tritons, sea horses, and Nereids amid fantastical sea creatures. At once chaotic and graceful, the imagery evokes the mythological abundance and power of the sea, merging Renaissance decoration with classical allegory.
