The Colosseum (70–80 AD), centerpiece of imperial spectacle, reveals its vast cavea and exposed hypogeum. These underground corridors enabled elaborate shows with animals and gladiators. Even in ruins, the arena evokes Rome’s engineering brilliance and social rituals.
