Bronze Horse
Discovered in 1845, this bronze horse sculpture (4th c. BC) from Vicolo delle Palme is attributed to a Greek sculptor, possibly Lysippus or Hegias. It showcases meticulous anatomical detail and was originally part of a larger composition. Brought to Rome as war booty after Greece’s conquest in the 2nd c. BC, it reflects the high craftsmanship of ancient Greek sculptors.
