This opulent corner of the War Room at Versailles (c. 1678) displays the grandeur of Louis XIV’s reign through sculptural and painted allegory. Gilded doors, red marble columns, and ceiling frescoes celebrate the Sun King’s military triumphs. Classical busts reinforce the connection between royal authority and Roman imperial legacy.
