This sculpture (c. 1890s) by Antoine Bourdelle reflects his early Symbolist and Art Nouveau phase, influenced by Rodin, under whom he worked. Employing the non finito technique and assembling multiple heads, Bourdelle explored form, incompletion, and expressive ambiguity, echoing the Symbolist fascination with dreamlike and metamorphic imagery.
