Nasca Geoglyphs and Religious Iconography

56
The geoglyphs near Cahuachi in the Pampa Galeras National Reserve, Ayacucho, are intricate symbols associated with fertility and water worship. Featuring zoomorphic and phytomorphic figures like hummingbirds, rain-bringing birds, and divine felines, they were integral to Nasca religious rituals. Although many were lost to floods, the surviving large, continuous geoglyphs reflect Paracas-Nasca transitional iconography, also evident in ceramics and textiles.
