تُصوِّر هذه اللوحة الجدارية (1587–1594) لتوماسّو لاوريتي البطل الروماني غايوس موسيوس سكايفولا. بعد فشل محاولة اغتيال الملك الإتروسكي لارس بورسِنّا، يُدخِل موسيوس يده في النار ليثبت شجاعته. وتدور أحداث المشهد في معسكر إتروسكي، حيث يبرز الفضائل الرومانية، وهو جزء من سلسلة تحتفي ببدايات الجمهورية الرومانية المبكرة.
