Muisca Tunjos
These Muisca gold votive figures (900–1500 AD), known as tunjos , were placed in lakes, caves, and temples as offerings to deities and ancestors. Their elongated bodies, detailed faces, and ritual gestures conveyed prayers for fertility, protection, and cosmic balance, reflecting a spiritual worldview rooted in reciprocity and sacred geography.
