Side Altar of the Virgin Mary

This elegant side altar (18th c.) honors the Virgin Mary, shown crowned and robed beneath a golden arch inscribed Ave Maria Gratia Plena. She is flanked by Franciscan saints, including St. Francis of Assisi and St. Anthony of Padua. The richly carved gilded framework and blue celestial backdrop emphasize Mary’s purity and regal status as Queen of Heaven.
