This dazzling main altarpiece (late 16th–early 17th cc.) is a masterpiece of colonial Baroque art. Covered in gold leaf, it blends European techniques with local craftsmanship to honor St Francis of Assisi. Its vertical tiers of saints, angels, and floral carvings exalt divine glory through radiant splendor.
