This monumental gilded altarpiece (1593–1611) blends Mudéjar , Renaissance, and Baroque elements in one of Colombia’s most exquisite ecclesiastical artworks. Carved in cedar and covered in gold leaf, it honors St Francis of Assisi and features sculpted saints, biblical reliefs, and ornamental detail exalting the Catholic faith.
