この打ち出し鉄製の火鉢は、三本脚の台座に支えられ、植民地時代の家屋で室内暖房に使われていました。浅い金属製の鉢に薪を入れて火をつけ、部屋を暖めました。そのデザインは、16〜18世紀のアンデス地方の住居内部によく見られた、スペインと現地双方の工芸伝統を反映しています。
