This ensemble (early 19th c.) exemplifies Empire style with its neoclassical motifs, gilded wood, and imperial emblems. Designed for sociability, the table and chairs reflect Josephine’s vision of refined yet intimate court life. The heraldic upholstery affirms allegiance to Napoleonic power while embracing a cultivated domestic atmosphere.
