Horse Thrown by a BullFrancisco Goya

This etching, part of the series La Tauromaquia (1815–1816), depicts a bullfight scene where a bull impales a horse as spectators watch. Goya explores the history and spectacle of bullfighting, using etching to heighten drama and violence. This plate was excluded from the series’ first edition, possibly due to its graphic nature.
