Mudéjar Ceiling

739
This 16th c. wooden ceiling showcases intricate Mudéjar design, a legacy of Islamic art in Christian Spain. Interlaced stars, geometric motifs, and gilded rosettes evoke the infinite and divine. Its presence in a colonial church reflects the cultural layering of Iberian, Indigenous, and Moorish traditions in Andean sacred architecture.
