Stern Ornament with Cherubs

556
This vibrant reproduction of a stern carving from Sweden’s warship Vasa (1628) exemplifies Baroque grandeur in naval design. Two cherubs flank a crowned emblem, symbolizing divine favor and monarchical power. Such decoration turned ships into floating propaganda, reinforcing the authority of the Swedish crown.
