Model of the Vasa

227
This full-scale model shows the warship with painted hull, carved stern figures, and complete rigging as in 1628. Built in Stockholm to project royal naval power, the original vessel was top-heavy and sank on its maiden voyage. The model demonstrates how elaborate decoration and concentrated armament could undermine stability in early modern warship design.
