GallantKate Clark
This mixed-media sculpture (2022) shows a taxidermied deer body extended across the floor, with a human face emerging where the animal’s head would be. Clark uses preserved animal skin, sculpted features, and an elongated form to join human and non-human anatomy in a single figure. The hybrid body demonstrates how contemporary artists use taxidermy to question fixed ideas of species, identity, and vulnerability.
