Encargada bajo Luis XIV (c. 1668), la Fuente de Latona representa el mito de Latona protegiendo a sus hijos, Apolo y Diana, transformando a los campesinos burlones en ranas. Situada en la base del eje del jardín, simboliza la justicia real y el derecho divino de los reyes, reforzando la imagen de Luis XIV como Rey Sol y un Apolo moderno.
