Pintada por Charles de La Fosse (finales del siglo XVII), esta escena en el techo del Salón de Apolo glorifica al dios del sol conduciendo su carro a través del cielo. Apolo, símbolo del propio Luis XIV, irradia poder y orden divinos, disipando la oscuridad y el caos. La obra afirma la identidad mitificada del rey como el Rey Sol y gobernante divino.
