تلتقط منحوتة آدم البرونزية (1889) لإميل-أنطوان بورديل شعور آدم بالذنب بعد الخطيئة، جامعةً بين القوة العضلية والعمق العاطفي. وقد تأثرت بميكيلانجيلو، فتستحضر الأشكال الديناميكية في كنيسة سيستين. ويبلغ ارتفاعها 93 بوصة، وتحمل على قاعدتها توقيع بورديل والسنة. يستكشف هذا العمل هشاشة الإنسان وقوته.
