Idacansas in SugamuxiLuis Alberto Acuña

This mural (1950s) portrays Idacansas, supreme priest of the Muisca, presiding in Sugamuxi—their sacred city, now known as Sogamoso. As mediator between gods and mortals, he receives offerings of food and a tunjo (golden votive figure). The round temples evoke the ceremonial heart of Muisca life, where ritual and tradition united the cosmos and the community.
