Temple of Aesculapius
This small Neoclassical temple (1785–92) rises on an artificial island, framed by pines and reflected in the lake. It honors Aesculapius, Greco-Roman god of healing, recalling ancient waterside sanctuaries where visitors sought cures. Its harmonious proportions and landscaped setting demonstrate Enlightenment ideas that linked physical health to ordered nature and contemplative beauty.
