Bull-Penis Flogging Instruments

Twisted pizzles, made from dried bull penises, were used as flogging instruments. Crafted through stretching and twisting, they served as effective whips for self-defense. Shepherds in Spain and Germany used them from the 16th century. The threat of being whipped with a pizzle deterred thieves, playing a role in rural protection and deterrence.
